Psalm 136

Tonight at Ladies’ Bible study we learned about reading the Psalms & finding our own devotions in them. We’ve been learning about having devotions and have used a couple different types of devotionals, but this week we are just supposed to see what God says as we read the Psalms. Paula (the leader) wanted us to practice, so she gave us each a Psalm to read. Sue & I had Psalm 136. After reading it to each other, and discovering that it was a little history of Israel & God’s goodness to her, Sue suggested we write our own “Psalm 136”. Here is mine ~

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.
His love endures forever.
Who healed me when I was just born.
His love endures forever.
Who taught me His ways,
His love endures forever.
to Him Who gave me a Godly heritage,
His love endures forever.
and guided me through loves lost & gained.
His love endures forever.
to Him Who is faithful, even when I’m not.
His love endures forever.
Who feeds me, clothes me, and keeps a roof over my head.
His love endures forever.
to Him Who has blessed me
His love endures forever.
with a Godly husband,
His love endures forever.
and Godly children.
His love endures forever.
Who has never left me
His love endures forever.
cold, hungry, naked.
His love endures forever.
Who answers prayer,
His love endures forever.
even little ones like “the Nutcracker”.
His love endures forever.
Blessing & glory are His.
His love endures forever.

About Sonja

I am a wife, a mom, a homeschooler, a Christian, a scrapbooker, a cook, a baker, a reader, and a thinker. I am many other things, too, that are not so easily defined. Right now, God has been calling me to be faithful in what He has given me to do – to be the best wife, mom, homeschooler, friend, etc. that I can be. In essence, He has told me to “bloom where I’m planted”.
