Things to ponder

Prov. 9:6 says, “Leave YOUR simple ways & you will live; walk in the way of understanding.”

Let’s look at the Heart and begin walking in understanding of what God wants from us.

H is for Home. We must first start in the home. Who are you when you are alone with your family? Are you supportive, cheerful, loving or depressed, sullen and selfish?

E is for Eternal Focus. Our focus needs to be on Christ, not on ourselves or our circumstances.

A is for Accepting what comes from God’s Hand. How are you receiving what comes your way? Are you mad or jealous because your friend has more? Are you sad because you don’t have the best clothes or the latest handbag? Have you thanked God for all that He has given to you? Have you thanked Him for allowing you to go the challenges so that you can grow to become a better person?

R is for being Real. True relationships do not develop out of superficial behaviour. They develop when the heart is revealed and when the barriers are down. We must remember too that we are often times the only Bible those around us see each day. If we are not shining brightly, then what are we saying about the Lord to those who are struggling with their faith?

T is for Time. Time, not money, is all that is needed to make memories. When it comes to your family, your time is more valuable than any dollar bill.

About Sonja

I am a wife, a mom, a homeschooler, a Christian, a scrapbooker, a cook, a baker, a reader, and a thinker. I am many other things, too, that are not so easily defined. Right now, God has been calling me to be faithful in what He has given me to do – to be the best wife, mom, homeschooler, friend, etc. that I can be. In essence, He has told me to “bloom where I’m planted”.
