Why do you worship?

Heard this song on the Zune this morning & it reminded me of why I worship like I do.

All For You Lyrics
Performed by- Big Daddy Weave
(Mike Weaver / Andy Cloninger)

I wanna sing
Like I’m driving in the car all by myself
I wanna dance like I just won the lottery
I wanna lift my hands and spin around
I wanna throw my head back and shout
Like a prisoner who’s just found out he’s free

I will give my everything
I’ll be a fool for You
Because I am in love with You

I wanna sing and shout
I wanna dance around
I wanna forget who I used to be
And embrace Your truth
So when I sing and shout
When I dance around
When I lay my pride down
It’s all for You

I wanna live learning how to make my life a sacrifice
I wanna die to find my true identity
I wanna answer at Your beckon call
Wanna do my best and give my all
I wanna hold on to You and let go of me

So let me give my everything
I’ll be a fool for You
Because I am in love with You

With sweet success already gained
Self righteousness is not my aim
I’m raised from death into Your life so free
Not on my own but by Your grace
I’m gazing long into Your face
And I can’t keep this passion bottled up inside of me

Song Description:
Worship is great. There is nothing like getting in a room with a bunch of believers and just letting loose. But Worship has to be more than getting excited, jumping around and acting crazy. It is about knowing who it is you are being a fool for. Worship means learning to live as a sacrifice, and being willing to die in order to truly live. As much as we respond to God in corporate worship, it mustn’t stop when we walk out of the church doors on Sunday morning. (Mike Weaver)

About Sonja

I am a wife, a mom, a homeschooler, a Christian, a scrapbooker, a cook, a baker, a reader, and a thinker. I am many other things, too, that are not so easily defined. Right now, God has been calling me to be faithful in what He has given me to do – to be the best wife, mom, homeschooler, friend, etc. that I can be. In essence, He has told me to “bloom where I’m planted”.
