cool site!

This woman, this Pioneer Woman, covers everything – from homemaking to homeschooling – with pictures!!
I especially like her cooking section. My friend Mary said she was thinking of trying the Pioneer Woman’s Pasta with Roasted Red Peppers – http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/03/pasta-with-roasted-red-pepper-sauce-groan/ – so I went to see. I think *I* (who usually doesn’t like peppers) might like this! Then I saw the previous post – fondant!!! Now I want to try this!! 🙂

Things to ponder

Prov. 9:6 says, “Leave YOUR simple ways & you will live; walk in the way of understanding.”

Let’s look at the Heart and begin walking in understanding of what God wants from us.

H is for Home. We must first start in the home. Who are you when you are alone with your family? Are you supportive, cheerful, loving or depressed, sullen and selfish?

E is for Eternal Focus. Our focus needs to be on Christ, not on ourselves or our circumstances.

A is for Accepting what comes from God’s Hand. How are you receiving what comes your way? Are you mad or jealous because your friend has more? Are you sad because you don’t have the best clothes or the latest handbag? Have you thanked God for all that He has given to you? Have you thanked Him for allowing you to go the challenges so that you can grow to become a better person?

R is for being Real. True relationships do not develop out of superficial behaviour. They develop when the heart is revealed and when the barriers are down. We must remember too that we are often times the only Bible those around us see each day. If we are not shining brightly, then what are we saying about the Lord to those who are struggling with their faith?

T is for Time. Time, not money, is all that is needed to make memories. When it comes to your family, your time is more valuable than any dollar bill.

someone needs to redo this quiz

You Are Going to Heaven

You’re so saintly you’re practically an angel, and there’s no other place for you than heaven.

You are always concerned with doing the right thing. You consider being a good person a joy… not a burden.

You’re not perfect, and you don’t expect anyone else to be. You are ethical without being sanctimonious about it.

You are happy with yourself and the decisions you’ve made. And that’s what’s important.

So I already knew this … but the quiz never asked the all important question – “have you asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins?” It focused mainly on doing or being good. which, we all know, can’t get you into heaven. 🙂

Funny faux paux

While driving Jonathan home from jujutsu today, he read the Garlic Jim’s sign – “Now serving glutton-free pizza.” We had a good laugh and an even better discussion over his misreading. 🙂

what we did this weekend

We had a fun weekend. We went to a St. Patty’s Day party at Sean Brooks’ house. While we were there, Jeff decided to become more Irish. 🙂

You Are Blooming Flowers

You are an optimistic person by nature. In even the darkest times, you are hopeful about the future.

You feel truly blessed in life and can sometimes be overwhelmed with emotions.

You have an artist’s eye. You are always looking for beauty in the mundane.

You have a good sense of aesthetics, especially when it comes to shapes and color.

The new facebook stinks!!

I cannot find half of the things I used to use on Facebook!  It’s really annoying.
Since I couldn’t find the “notes” area, I am going to post the note here.  Maybe this is a good thing … maybe people will read my blog now!!

Pictures

So you all know, or should have gathered by now, that I love taking pictures.  I thought that I took some pretty decent pictures, but now I know how much I have to learn!!

Check out my cousin’s site – http://naomifigueroaphotography.blogspot.com/ – for great photography.
I met someone recently who does graphic art & photography for a living.  He took some neat pictures!!  I wish he had a website so you could see!
Anyways … I think I am going to read those design books and maybe even read some photography books …
