A mother’s heroism
Here is a story of a mother (she happens to be a FOX News correspondent) who has given her 5-month old baby part of her liver.
My favorite part of the video (you have to watch the video! If you have trouble finding it, let me know!!) is when Greta is interviewing Catherine’s mom. Here is an excerpt from the transcript:

VAN SUSTEREN: I mean obviously you worry. This is your grandson.
RUTH HERRIDGE, CATHERINE HERRIDGE’S MOTHER: Of course.
VAN SUSTEREN: This is your daughter. But you have a sense of optimism and hope.
R. HERRIDGE: Oh, yes.
VAN SUSTEREN: I don’t know what are the words to describe it?
R. HERRIDGE: That’s right. You have because I know that as you go through life — and I’m not as young as I was — you have a lot of things that go on.
Twisting around a little bit, yes. (adjusting the baby)
You’ve had enough experience to know that when you pray you don’t always get the answers you want but you can trust God.

I LOVE FOX NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just had to add that)

D-day Remembered

Today is the anniversary of D-day. We stumbled upon an old radio show on our XM Radio that was aired two days after D-day. It was supposed to be an Orson Wells regular program, but they put together something else instead. It is really neat. I like old-time radio! 🙂 (Just to clarify, it will say this post is by Jef, but it isn’t. I didn’t want you all to think less of him for using smileys all over the place! 🙂 )
What do you think about D-day? Lately, I’ve been remembering a lot more. We watched “Band of Brothers” last year around this time. That was really neat. We have a sticker on our steering wheel that says “Freedom isn’t free”. We talk about that with the boys a lot. And we have a yellow ribbon on our door, to help us remember we are at war.
If you think of it, write a note to a soldier and let them know that you appreciate their sacrifice, and the sacrifices their families make so that we can be free.
God bless!

Nicholas was pretty sick for about a week. Here big brother Jonathan is helping him play Elmo on the computer. The boys were great helpers while Nicholas was sick! (I call J & D “the boys” so much that Nicholas has begun referring to them as “his boys” – “I need to go find my boys.” :o) ) Posted by Picasa
