Window Views

This is my post for Window Views.
The window shown here is the outside order window for a restaurant at Freighthouse Square. I liked the contrast of the black & white awning and the green building. It blends old & new. 🙂

homeschooling buddies

Ethan came over today and we did school together. Nicholas enjoys doing Ethan’s school with him. 🙂 They are best buds! So here you see 1) Nicholas & Ethan; 2) Nicholas trying out the science experiment (we put shortening in a Ziploc, then another Ziploc inside that, to simulate blubber – like seals, polar bears and walruses have; then we put one hand in a regular Ziploc bag and the other hand in the blubber bag, then held them in ice water for 30 seconds. it was to see how the blubber keeps you warm.); 3) Daniel trying out the experiment (he said it didn’t work so I told him he was part polar bear. Then he told the little boys he was going to eat them!).

math is BORING

So boring, in fact, it put Daniel to sleep!!
Two weeks ago, he had a double ear infection. He was not sleeping well at night. He was also sleeping in the recliner in the living room. So, when I told him to do his math, he sat in the recliner and fell asleep!!

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.

All possible results: Elinor Dashwood, Marianne Dashwood, Elizabeth Bennet, Fanny Price, Emma Woodhouse, Catherine Morland, Anne Elliot

** I thought I would be Fanny …

Window Views

Nicholas sitting on the back of the couch looking at the snow. Taken in 2006, I think.

Ran across this today and thought I’d join …

“I’ve always been fascinated by all kinds of windows. And photographing them from the outside or the inside has been fun for me. Will you join me?”
You can post:
house windows,
castle windows,
stained glass windows,
old windows,
new windows,
animals or people looking out of windows,
views through windows
Here are the rules:
Post your own photographs
Describe your photographs and the circumstances of taking your pictures if you want to
You may post as early as Wednesday at 4 o’clock EST
(I’ll probably be posting early Thursday mornings, though)
Have fun!

Jonathan turns

ELEVEN!

holy cow – my oldest is eleven.  I cannot believe it.  Well, okay, I can, but still – I’m OLD!
Jonathan had a fun day yesterday.  We went to Evva’s (MIL) to help her with her knee.  While we were there, he got to open presents and have cake.  Mom was glad we brought the party there, as she won’t be able to come Saturday or Sunday.
Friday, Jonathan is having a sleepover with three friends.  Saturday is his party.  Sunday is dinner with the family.
So a whole birthday week of fun!!
