Some days are easier than others.
Some days I wake up and don’t remember I’ve lost a baby.
Some days God grants me peace and joy and I am rested in Him.
Other days I have to concentrate, to almost fight, to not think about the baby.
Other days I have to remind myself where she is and remember that I will be there, too, one day.
Other days I have to ask God to give me rest and peace – to bind the wound that cuts so deep.
Other days I cry out in my heart, “I want my baby back!!”

Then there are days when I see God working. I know He’s got a plan, He reminds me constantly. He has shown me that this miscarriage does not have to be all bad. He has shown me how my pain has helped others; how staying close to Him throughout this has drawn others closer to Him, too.

God’s given me comfort in Scripture –
Jan. 10 — 2 Cor. 12:9 ~ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Jan 15 — Gen. 18:14 ~ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.

Jan 19 — Is. 60:1-3 ~ Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness cover the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Jan 25 — Heb. 11:39-40 ~ These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

Feb 12 — Ps. 30:5 ~ For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Feb 21 — Is. 40:31 ~ But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Feb 26 — Rom. 5:6 ~ You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

March 1 — Job 23:10 ~ But He knows the way I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Mar 8 — Jude 21 ~ Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Mar 10 — Ps. 71:3 ~ Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

Mar 15 — Ps. 126:5 ~ Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

Mar 16 — Jer. 29:11 ~ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Apr. 2 — Jer. 31:3 ~ The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

Apr. 5 — I Sam. 7:12 ~ Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far has the Lord helped us.”

Apr. 7 — Mark 9:23 ~ “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible to him who believes.”

About Sonja

I am a wife, a mom, a homeschooler, a Christian, a scrapbooker, a cook, a baker, a reader, and a thinker. I am many other things, too, that are not so easily defined. Right now, God has been calling me to be faithful in what He has given me to do – to be the best wife, mom, homeschooler, friend, etc. that I can be. In essence, He has told me to “bloom where I’m planted”.
