Sunday

Today was nice. We woke up, ate and then Jeff & the boys went to church. Jeff set up the web cam at church so I could see what was happening. We weren’t able to get the sound, though, so I just got to watch. 🙂 He called during greeting time and passed me around. 🙂 That was neat. People waved. 🙂
Sunday afternoon was nice and quiet. Michelle took the boys to the Y (something they’ve been dying to do!), so Jeff and I just hung out and had lunch. I finished another book. (I’ll write about those later) I also got all the paperwork filled out for the kids’ new virtual school. That was a relief.
When the kids came home, we got to visit with Michelle for a little bit. Then she & Elijah left and we watched “Star Wars Droids” – a cartoon filling in the Star Wars saga between the 3rd and 4th movie, I think.
Then it was bedtime for the kids and word games for Jeff & me! 🙂 I love word games.
that’s all she wrote.

all in all

This song’s been running through my head lately ~

You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all

Seeking You as a precious jewel
Lord, to give up I’d be a fool
You are my all in all

Taking my sin, my cross, my shame
Rising up again I bless Your name
You are my all in all

When I fall down You pick me up
When I am dry You fill my cup
You are my all in all

Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name

You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all

Seeking You as a precious jewel
Lord, to give up I’d be a fool
You are my all in all

Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name
Jesus, Lamb of God
Worthy is Your name

Super Nicholas!

Nicholas has been dressing up a lot lately. He especially likes combining super heroes. 🙂 Yesterday he was Anakin (with Jesus in his heart so he won’t turn to the dark side). He wants a full-body Batman suit for his birthday … 🙂

anyways, just thought I’d share!

Thursday’s post

Well, I started this post on Thursday, but I couldn’t get the pictures to work. then we had to go to bed early as Jeff had to get up @ 4AM this morning.
Anyways … so I missed a day of blogging.
Since I have been on bed rest, my hair has been giving me fits. It would wrap around my neck while I slept (something disturbing to wake up with!), and just was a pain to deal with while lying down and not using my stomach muscles (how do you get hair out from under your head without doing something akin to a crunch?). So I decided to chop it off. It was long enough that I could donate my tresses to Locks of Love. They require at least ten inches of hair.
Wednesday evening, my friend Lori came over and cut my hair. She & Jeff worked it out so I could lay on the couch while she cut it.

Here she has put it into two ponytails and is measuring it.

the first cut is the deepest (?) or is it hardest?

There are my two 10-inch ponytails! We found more hair hiding underneath me a little later, but it wasn’t enough to save for anything.

When I get to take a shower again, I will post a new picture of my new “do”.

What day is it today?

Time is non-existent for me sometimes. I’ve been out of the loop as to what day it is for a while!
Today was a pretty good day. Actually, This whole week has been pretty good. I haven’t really been bored yet, so that is good, too. 🙂
The kids have been getting out a lot and Jeff has still been able to work. The boys went to see a free movie (“Charlotte’s Web”) on Tuesday and went out to lunch with friends. Then today they got to go to another free movie (“The Water Horse”?) with their Aunt Marie and cousin Jacob. They had a lot of fun both times.
Today after lunch, we all hung out in my room and Jonathan read “Rikki Tikki Tavi” to us. I love that story. He did a good job of reading, using different inflections for different characters and such. 🙂
When Jeff got home from work, I washed my hair! 🙂 Brian & Lori came over and had supper with us. Then Lori chopped off my hair. We are going to send the two ponytails to Locks of Love. 🙂 Now my hair is short and doesn’t get in my way anymore. It’s so nice. I’ll post pictures tomorrow.
Tomorrow is music with Mom in the morning. Then our friend Barbara is coming over for a visit in the afternoon. The kids are going to a farm in the afternoon, too. I hope they have fun.
I’m doing okay. God is good. 🙂 Talk to you tomorrow!

Day 15 of 100 days of blogging; day 8 of bed rest.

random thoughts

Did you know Tom Selleck is a spokesman for Florida’s Natural Orange Juice? Florida’s Natural is my favorite o.j. 🙂 Tom Selleck is one of my very favorite actors. good combo

why is it that certain people who disagree with the things I believe can’t accept the fact that we both have the right to our opinion? Tonight on O’Reilly, there was this guy talking about how an ad in the UK offended gay people. He refused to see that another ad, also aired in the UK, which showed two men kissing, could be offensive to other people.

O’Reilly’s word for the day is “foppish”. I know what that means because “The Scarlet Pimpernel” is one of my favorite movies. 🙂

Oh, and Combs is on vacation and Susan Estridge (most likely spelled wrong) is sitting in. I think they should get rid of Combs & call it the “Sean & Susan Show”. It’s alliterative. 🙂

slow Sunday

Today was nice. although it seemed to drag on and on. This morning, we woke up and Jeff made breakfast. Then they were off to church. While they were gone, I listened to the news, played some games and then took a little nap (lying on one’s side causes you to fall asleep all of a sudden!), After my nap, I finished watching “Pride & Prejudice”. Then Jeff called to say they were on their way home. 🙂 After he got home, he fed me (well, he gave me food to eat. I can still feed myself!). Then he set it up so I can see the sanctuary from my computer. That was exciting.
A little while later I moved out to the couch and Doug and Marie came and picked up the boys. The boys were very excited to go their cousin’s house. Then Kamali and Tina showed up and we watched “Tootsie”, that was a good movie in spite of all the interruptions.
Now I’m back in bed and I’m reminded again of my verse for the day, John 14:1 -“Do not let your heart be troubled, trust in God; trust also in Me.” God keeps reminding me to trust Him and rest in Him. That’s all for today.

Psalm 25:4 ~ “Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.”

Learning to rest in Him is not that easy. It sounds easy at the start, because one thinks, “well, what else is there to do??” Resting in Christ is like learning to be a mom. You have to learn to let go – to not freak out about stuff. You have to lay down your own expectations and be flexible … to see what happens and go with the flow.
People have prayed for me and the baby. I know God hears their prayers. However, I do not know how all this will turn out. There are a myriad of possibilities, the majority of which aren’t great. What I do know is that He has called me to rest. Not just physically, but to rest my spirit in Him. To that end, I am trying to lay aside all my worries and fears and just trust. Jesus knows what’s best … He will work all this out for His glory. That too is a lesson to be learned – His glory means I’m not in the limelight. 🙂 but that is a thought for another day.
Today is rest. Rest in Him. Cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you.

“Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.” ~ Psalm 25:4

Day 3

So today is day three of my bed rest. The kids are gone, Michelle took them to sleep over last night after VBS … Jeff is out checking the garden then he’s going to do dishes. I’m just laying here. It’s what I do. 🙂
Yesterday Tina brought back laundry. The boys put away some of their laundry, I think. We also had a couple visitors – the neighbor across the alley brought over some lettuce. I had to talk to her from the bedroom – the boys didn’t explain that I was stuck in bed! I’m hoping Jeff sees her when he’s out gardening so he can explain. We also had a friend from church stop by. She brought groceries — TUNA & TOMATOES!! I’d been hoping for those, but Jeff didn’t pick any up when he went shopping (we’re trying to save money since I’m out of work now). So that was a neat surprise. She even brought low-sodium V-8, Jeff’s favorite drink!! 🙂 We had a nice visit and she prayed with me before she left.
Today started off cloudy, but it is getting sunnier. It’s cold, though! I hope the boys have fun. Michelle is taking them berry-picking! 🙂

So I can’t really complain, it seems like we got to the dr. just in time. I was a coach for the VBS soccer – walking all oer the field … I have no idea what would have happened if my appointment hadn’t occurred when it did. it seems we got in at just the right time. we go back for another check up on Aug. 5 – our anniversary of all days!!
