You Are a Crossword Puzzle

You are well read, and you have a good head for remembering facts.

You are a wordsmith. You have a way with words, and you’re very literate.

You are a mysterious person who enjoys dropping little clues every now and then.

verse & song for the day

But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold. ~ Job 23:10

I shall come forth as gold,
when I’m tried,
Job cried.
I’m coming out a winner
if I live or if I die.

Don’t feel sorry for me, friend,
I’m safe in the fold.

I’m not forsaken,
God’s refining His gold.

help our troops

Jeff sent me the link to this article. (http://www.michaelyon-online.com/wp/paratroopers-fighting-in-afghanistan-need-to-hear-from-you.htm) There was an article written in the NYT painting our guys in Afghanistan as less than heroic.
“The article sensationalized the facts in a negative way, which served only to cause undue stress on the Soldiers and family members.”
We can send letters, cards, and other things to the troops to support them. In the original article (which you can read here – http://www.blackfive.net/main/2008/02/help-boost-mora.html) there is a ladies’ address to which we may send things. Spring is hard on the soldiers in Afghanistan – the bad guys come out of their caves full of mischief and evil plans. Let’s at least pray, and remember our troops.

on a funny note …

So I like to check out Hot Air, Michelle Malkin’s blog. I haven’t really been doing so for a while, but I did today. There’s some discussion about Senator McCain’s birthright – the New York Times (read it here) is bringing up a “musty debate” over where McCain was born (he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, while his father was stationed there for the Navy). A Hot Air commenter zinged it for everyone and was made “commenter of the day”.

You never know who’s reading you on Hot Air. In today’s USA Today
On Politics blog:

One of the funnier li[n]es about all this today comes from commenter 29Victor at Hot Air: “Good thing McCain wasn’t born on February 29th, they’d be debating whether or not he is over 35.”

Har.
Bravo Zulu, 29Victor. You done made us proud.

my very first attempt at using the digital zoom feature on my camera. I like how clear everything is!
This is a flower in an arrangement I made from the flowers left over at church. I’ll post more pics in a minute.
I love my camera – it takes awesome pics of flowers for me!! What do you think?

once again …

Why do Christian songs have to be so self-centered?? I know I’ve asked this question before, but no one has been able to explain to me the shift from Christ-centered to me-centered.

I guess with all the stuff that has been happening in my life, I’ve been more focused on Him. God has blessed us tremendously in this time of pain. He has given us good friends, a wonderful church family … and he has even continued to bless the business! Jeff has one client who upped their hours and another client (who isn’t on a contract) ask for a contract. Every time I go to church I feel so loved and comforted. People call and hug and pray.
So while I could just think about me, my thoughts are constantly directed back to God – to His goodness, His peace, His love (which shines radiantly through His church to us), His heart.
I just wish Christian singers could show this to people. Instead of songs being all about themselves, their songs could be about God and all the great things about Him. Kinda like this one ~

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
