The Real Romney?

So, sadly, Michelle Malkin and Rush and quite a few others are staunchly behind – almost fervently behind – Mitt Romney. This makes me sad because I do not believe Mr. Romney stands for what a Republican should stand. He says now that he is pro-life, but for quite a while (if you believe what he says in the video, it’s been since 1970) he was pro-choice. I thought Mr. Kennedy’s “multiple choice” comment was great.

Watch this and let me know what you think …

song

Thought this song was called “Thrive”, which seemed appropriate, but it is from the album titled “Thrive”. It’s Newsboys, of course.

Lord (I Don’t Know) Lyrics
Artist(Band):Newsboys

You are the author of knowledge
You can redeem what’s been done
You hold the present and all that’s to come
Until your everlasting kingdom

Lord, I don’t know where all this is going
Or how it all works out
Lead me to peace that is past understanding
A peace beyond all doubt

You are the God of tomorrow
Turning the darkness to dawn
Lifting the hopeless with hope to go on
You are the rock of all salvation

Lord, I don’t know where all this is going
Or how it all works out
Lead me to peace that is past understanding
A peace beyond all doubt

Oh, Lord, you are the author
Redeeming what’s been done
You hold us in the present
And all that is to come

Lord, we don’t know where all this is going
Or how it all works out
Lead us to peace that is past understanding
A peace beyond all doubt

Peppermint

Today is my birthday. I didn’t feel much like celebrating, so we are keeping it low-key. The boys bought me a Webkinz (see below) and Jeff had a radio installed in the van that lets me listen to my Zune! I named my duck Peppermint. She is fun, and soft and snuggly. Here is a picture of Peppermint.

Michelle & the kids are coming over after lunch, and Mom is coming over later in the afternoon. I am not sure about going to AWANA tonight. Jeff is worried it will make me sad again (Wednesdays are hard) … yesterday was a hard day. The sadness just kind of snuck up on me.
God is good. He is faithful. The boys make me laugh. Sometimes it feels wrong to be happy.

Will post more pictures of Peppermint & some other things. I found my camera had 417 pictures on it when I went to get the pics of Peppermint!!!

Psalms

The book of Psalms is always good for comfort. I’ve always loved Psalm 121. This morning, I read this –

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
Psalm 121:5-8

Today was my second foray into doing regular stuff. Yesterday I went to the Bead Factory with a friend and then Jeff, the boys & I went out to Target later. Going both places wore me out.
I’ve gotten better at not erupting into tears at the drop of a hat, but it is still hard to not just cry all the time.
Today the kids & I went to co-op. That was good. Most everyone there had already seen me & cried with me, so I didn’t cry at all. 🙂
Still feel so very sad and empty. I miss my baby girl. There was so much hope & joy that is now gone. But God is good and He gives me the strength to go on.

Sadness

I guess I should tell you all.
Wednesday night, around 11:30PM, our precious little baby went to be with Jesus. Everything happened very fast, there was nothing we could do. We are so sad. They told us at the hospital the baby was a girl. We’re still reeling from the shock of it all. The baby was 14.5 weeks old.

Rainy Sunday

Well, we made it to church today – and then we had a potluck afterward. I wasn’t feeling well before or after, but I got a little better as the day went on.
We were late to church, and then I got sick. 🙁 My broccoli casserole was soupy, but everyone said it was good.
The potluck was “Healthy foods”. So we had jambalaya, homemade split pea soup, ham, spaghetti, sauce with non-meat meatballs, veggie lasagna (the kids asked for seconds!), lentil soup, broccoli slaw, fruit salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, bananas, cookies, and applets & cotlets (such good candies!!). Of course, since I was sick, I couldn’t eat anything more than spaghetti with butter on it!
After the potluck, Pastor Greg asked Jeff to go with him to get a router for their home network. The boys all went to Diane’s house to play, so I got to hang out with Michelle (pastor’s wife). We had a nice visit. Jeff was able to fix their network & help them with another thing. The boys all had a blast with Lucas, Mari & Corey. They played outside most of the time. 🙂 I’m hoping they sleep well tonight.

I’m still sick – but I guess that is good. It means the baby is still going strong. 🙂

2008

Hi all! It’s a new year!!! Wow.
I decided to change the look of my blog for the new year. It’s kind of dark … but I think I like it. 🙂 It will be okay until I learn enough HTML to fix it the way I want to! 🙂
That’s one of my new year’s resolutions – for Jonathan & I (and maybe Daniel, too) to learn HTML.
Other resolutions – to eat healthier (with which the baby is helping, “she” ( 🙂 ) seems to like lots of veggies and fruit!) and spend less. I always want to keep a tidier house and make a cozy home for my family.
What are your resolutions? Or are you one of those who think resolutions are silly? Let me know!
