Nicholas prayed

Should have asked him sooner!

Last evening, we went to help at the coffee shop (which is opening today!!!). When we got there, I had the beginning of a migraine. I took Tylenol and was able to help for a while. The headache kept getting stronger, though, and more Tylenol didn’t help. Jeff said it was because I hadn’t had coffee, and he told me to eat some espresso beans (they have yummy chocolate covered ones). Those didn’t help at all. By this time, the headache was so bad, I thought I was going to be sick. I laid down on the couch and waited ’til we could go home.
When we got home, the kids got ready for bed. I usually go down to their room and tuck them in and pray, but tonight they came to me. We prayed, and when we were done, Nicholas had his hand raised. I said, “Yes?” and he said, “And for your headache.” I asked him to pray for me and he did. When I opened my eyes, the headache was gone! I went to bed and actually slept!! Feeling better this morning. Not 100%, but still tons better than last night!

Thank you, God! (and thanks, Nicholas, for thinking to pray)

Reading again …

Here’s another quote. It is from Danzig Passage (book 5 in the Zion Covenant Series).

“Theo frowned and looked down across the city of London. In Germany, they battled the Nazis, a tangible enemy. Here, the enemy was less obvious-the apathy of people who would simply rather not have their personal comfort disturbed.”

The similarity between what happened then, during Hitler’s takeover of Europe & WWII, and what is happening now – not just in the Iraq War – but what has happened, even in Vietnam and other previous wars is striking. We tend to be passive. We tend to say it isn’t our problem, and then millions of people die, are tortured or live their lives in constant fear. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be afraid for my husband’s life, or my sons’ lives, because of some evil dictator. I can’t imagine what it would be like to not be educated (since I’m a woman), or to be unable to express what I am thinking. We have a lot to be thankful for – a lot to fight for. Maybe other people in other countries deserve that right too.

You Are Thanksgiving

You are a bit of a homebody who enjoys being in the company of people you love.

It doesn’t take a lot to make you happy. You’re enjoying life as it is.

You have many blessings in your life, and you are grateful for each one.

You believe that life is about what you *do* have. You feel like you have enough of the good stuff.

What makes you celebrate: Family, friends, and the changing of the seasons.

At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The host of the party

On a holiday, you’re the one most likely to: Spend so much energy preparing that it’s a full time job

Daniel in his soccer uniform. This was the Saturday morning we had to be at the park at 8:30AM! He did great, though. Such a good lookin‘ kid, if I do say so myself! 🙂
His team didn’t win any games this year, but Daniel’s skill improved a lot. He learned how to be more aggressive, and how to guard the ball and how to pass and hopefully how to work on a team!
